TJ Schiller wins 2005 WSI Slopestyle

Another Notch On The Belt.

I just got off the phone with my brother, who answered with an amusingly-emphasised "Scott Schiller!"; naturally, he knew what I was calling about before answering and was in good spirits.

He has good reason to be. If I had just won the 2005 Whistler Ski Invitational Slopestyle competition, I would be too!

TJ said that the comp "went awesome," although I guess a lot of skiers were having problems with the gaps - they weren't able to get enough speed in some cases, TJ said, because there was a lot of fresh snow falling at the time.

Josh Bibby was also around after the presentations when I called, so I told my sister to pass along a "you're the man", and "congrats for winning that recent comp." Josh and TJ were both at last year's WSI together, and ended up competing against each other in a consolation round for 3rd and 4th place. They're still "best buds."

Josh mentioned he was interested in possibly getting me to put some ideas down on the turntables for a ski video soundtrack ("Lots of scratching and sick beats", in effect,) which would be pretty fun. I suggested TJ and Josh come by my place in California for a weekend to help do this. It didn't take much arm-twisting; the idea of a trip to Cali was sufficient for TJ.

When asked, "Got anything to say for when I write this?", the response from TJ: "I dunno what to say!"

Me neither - aside from "congratulations!"
